چکیده

Aim . To study the intraprocedural changes in baroreflex activity after catheter pulmonary vein isolation paroxysmal atrial fibrillation patients. Methods. From October 2021 to June 2022, sinus rhythm was registered at start of procedure 21 patients with admitted for isolation. Patients before and were tested phenylephrine. Pre- postoperative rate analyzed. Results. After isolation, decreased from 5.8 [3.5; 11.3] ms/mmHg 0.3 [-0.1; 1.8] ms/mmHg, р<0.001, based on systolic arterial pressure, 9.5 [5.1; 15.5] 0.6 [0; 7.6] p=0.033, diastolic pressure. Conclusion. Intraprocedural phenylephrine test allows assess modification cardiac autonomic innervation.

Pulmonary vein isolation for atrial fibrillation.

Nonpharmacological treatment for atrial fibrillation (AF) has evolved dramatically over the past 20 years. Pulmonary vein isolation, a catheter ablation technique developed in the last decade, prevents focal triggers in the pulmonary veins from initiating episodes of AF. Although the procedure initially involved focal ablation with a catheter directly in the pulmonary veins, investigators subse...

Spatial distribution of electrical reconnection after pulmonary vein isolation in patients with recurrent paroxysmal atrial fibrillation

INTRODUCTION Recurrence of atrial fibrillation after pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) occurs frequently and may be associated with electrical reconnection of the pulmonary veins (PV). We investigated spatial distribution of electrical reconnection during re-do procedures in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation who had previous successful acute electrical PVI with either single irrigated t...

Variant pulmonary vein anatomy detected by cardiac MRI may predict outcome after pulmonary vein isolation in patients with atrial fibrillation

Background Cardiac MRI (cMRI) has become an effective and feasible tool to identify the anatomy of the left atrium and the pulmonary veins (PV) prior to pulmonary vein ablation (PVI) in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). It is still difficult to predict the potential success of a PVI. Methods 254 patients (176 male, 62.3±10.5 years) with AF were included into this study. All patients recei...

Adenosine-induced pulmonary vein ectopy as a predictor of recurrent atrial fibrillation after pulmonary vein isolation.

BACKGROUND Adenosine can unmask dormant pulmonary vein (PV) conduction after PV isolation. Adenosine can also induce ectopy in electrically silent PVs after isolation, possibly via activation of autonomic triggers. We sought to identify the implications of adenosine-induced PV ectopy for atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence after PV isolation. METHODS AND RESULTS A total of 152 patients (age, ...

Clinical significance of inducible atrial flutter during pulmonary vein isolation in patients with atrial fibrillation.

OBJECTIVES This study was designed to determine the prevalence and clinical significance of atrial flutter (AFL) that occurs during catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF). BACKGROUND Atrial flutter frequently occurs in patients with AF. METHODS Pulmonary vein isolation was performed in 133 consecutive patients (age 52 +/- 11 years) for paroxysmal (n = 112) or persistent (n = 21) AF....
